Campaigns in this briefing

Ram 1500: rear seat-belt buckle anchors

The second-row buckle anchors may have been installed incorrectly. Dealers will inspect and attach the anchors to the body as necessary. The recall concerns the anchorage, rather than a universal replacement of the seat belts.

• Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2019-2026 Ram 1500 vehicles. The second-row center and left-side seat belt buckle anchors may have been improperly installed. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 210, “Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages.”
• Safety consequence: An improperly installed seat belt buckle anchor may fail to properly restrain occupants, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will inspect and attach the seat belt buckle anchor to the body structure as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 18, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is 67D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 6, 2026.

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram: rearview-camera display

A radio-software problem can prevent the rearview image from displaying. The updated campaign lists 844,027 potentially affected vehicles and calls for a dealer or over-the-air software update. OTA eligibility should be confirmed for the individual vehicle.

• Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, Ram Promaster, Ram Promaster EV, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler Voyager, and 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger vehicles. The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, “Rear Visibility.”
• Safety consequence: A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 2, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is 78D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026.

Population update: The amended report lists 844,027 potentially affected vehicles; the earlier 848,511 figure has been replaced in this briefing.

Toyota Camry Hybrid: instrument display and lighting functions

The affected Camry Hybrids have a specific 7-inch instrument display. A startup fault can blank the cluster and disable turn signals, hazard lamps and certain warnings. The remedy updates the display software.

• Owner notification: Owner letters planned for September 21–October 5, 2026; NHTSA lists September 21 as the expected mailing start.
• Defect: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Camry Hybrid vehicles. The instrument cluster display may fail during vehicle startup, deactivating the hazard lights, turn signals, seat belt warning system, and smart key reminder. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, “Control and Displays,” 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment,” 114, “Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention,” and 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
• Safety consequence: An instrument cluster that fails to display critical safety information increases the risk of a crash or injury.
• Remedy: Dealers will update the display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota’s customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 26TB16 and 26TA16.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: rear coil-spring isolators

The remedy replaces the rear coil-spring lower isolators. This recall replaces 26V051 and 23V413, and vehicles repaired under those earlier campaigns need the new remedy.

• Owner notification: Interim safety-risk letters expected September 29, 2026. A second notice will follow when the final remedy is available.
• Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.
• Safety consequence: Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC’s number for this recall is 89D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 9, 2026. This recall replaces NHTSA recall numbers 26V051 and 23V413. Vehicles already repaired under the previous recalls will need to have the new remedy completed.

Mercedes-Benz: door-lock and rollaway risk

A corroded switch in the driver’s door lock may fail to detect an open door, preventing automatic parking functions from engaging as intended. The listed remedy replaces the door lock.

• Defect: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC (MBUSA) is recalling certain 2020-2021 CLA, 2019-2022 A-Class, 2022-2023 C-Class, 2024 CLE, 2020-2026 GLA/GLB, and 2023-2024 GLC vehicles. Please refer to MBUSA’s recall report for specific model information. The micro-switch in the driver’s door lock may corrode and fail to detect an open door, preventing the electronic parking brake or “Auto-Park” feature from engaging automatically. This may result in a vehicle rollaway.
• Safety consequence: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash or injury.
• Remedy: Dealers will replace the driver’s door lock, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 18, 2026.
