• Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, Ram Promaster, Ram Promaster EV, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler Voyager, and 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger vehicles. The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, “Rear Visibility.”
• Safety consequence: A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 2, 2026. Toyota Camry Hybrid: instrument display and lighting functions

The affected Camry Hybrids have a specific 7-inch instrument display. A startup fault can blank the cluster and disable turn signals, hazard lamps and certain warnings. The remedy updates the display software.

• Defect: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Camry Hybrid vehicles. The instrument cluster display may fail during vehicle startup, deactivating the hazard lights, turn signals, seat belt warning system, and smart key reminder. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 101, “Control and Displays,” 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment,” 114, “Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention,” and 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
• Safety consequence: An instrument cluster that fails to display critical safety information increases the risk of a crash or injury.
• Remedy: Dealers will update the display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. Owners may contact Toyota’s customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota’s numbers for this recall are 26TB16 and 26TA16.

Ford Mustang: wiring-ground and loss-of-power risk

Dealers will replace the engine-compartment wiring-harness ground terminals. Interim letters have been sent, but the reviewed sources do not establish that the final remedy is available for every affected vehicle.

• Owner notification: Interim letters mailed September 5, 2026. A further notice will follow when the remedy is available; source forecasts differ, as explained below.
• Defect: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2024-2026 Mustang vehicles. The engine compartment wiring harness ground connections may fracture and result in a loss of drive power, or a loss of function in the windshield washing system, headlights, air conditioning, or engine cooling fan. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) numbers 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment,” and 104, “Windshield Wiping and Washing Systems.”
• Safety consequence: A loss of driver power increases the risk of a crash. In addition, a loss of headlight function or windshield washing system function can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will replace the engine compartment wiring harness ground terminals, free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed September 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available, anticipated in March 2027. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 26C40. Dodge Durango: rear spoiler and prior repairs

A rear spoiler can detach. The current repair calls for inspection, repair or replacement of the spoiler and liftgate alignment as necessary. Vehicles already repaired under 21V842 or 23V115 still require the new remedy.

• Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Dodge Durango vehicles. The rear spoiler may not be aligned properly with the roof, possibly resulting in damage to the spoiler during liftgate use.
• Safety consequence: A damaged rear spoiler may detach and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace or repair the spoiler and align the liftgate as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 10, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler’s number for this recall is 61D. Mitsubishi Outlander: rearview-camera display

The recall concerns the rearview-camera image and the A-IVI software. Dealers will update that software free of charge. Check the campaign’s vehicle scope and the individual VIN rather than assuming all Outlanders are affected.

• Defect: Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Outlander and 2026 Outlander PHEV vehicles. Due to improper software programming, the Alliance In-Vehicle Infotainment (A-IVI) system may fail to display the rearview camera image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, “Rear Visibility.”
• Safety consequence: A rearview image that does not display properly reduces the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will update the A-IVI software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 24, 2026. Owners may contact MMNA customer service at 1-888-648-7820. Alfa Romeo Tonale and Dodge Hornet: rear seat-belt retractors

The rear outboard seat belts may become twisted and fail to retract properly. Dealers will replace the affected retractors. The official narrative identifies the rear belts even though the API’s component category refers to the front.

• Defect: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2025 Dodge Hornet and 2023-2026 Alfa Romeo Tonale vehicles. The rear outboard seat belts may become twisted and fail to retract properly.
• Safety consequence: A seat belt that does not retract may fail to restrain properly an occupant as intended, increasing the risk of injury.
• Remedy: Dealers will replace the retractors, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed beginning September 24, 2026. Toyota Tacoma: shock-absorber reservoir detachment

Corrosion can break a flange on affected front or rear shock absorbers, allowing an external oil reservoir to detach and become a road hazard. Dealers will inspect and replace the assemblies as necessary. The recall applies to the equipment and vehicle range described in Toyota’s report.

• Defect: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2024 Tacoma Hybrid and 2024-2025 Tacoma vehicles. The metal flange on the front and rear shock absorbers may corrode and fail, resulting in detachment of the external oil reservoir.
• Safety consequence: An oil reservoir that detaches can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the front and rear shock absorber assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. BMW: driveshaft connection and rollaway risk

Wear at the driveshaft-to-differential connection can cause loss of drive power or rollaway if the parking brake is not applied. NHTSA says campaign VINs will become searchable October 2; a negative lookup before then alone does not rule out this campaign.

• Defect: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2022-2026 840i, 840i xDrive, 2021-2023 540i, 540i xDrive, M550i xDrive, and 2024-2026 750e xDrive vehicles. The connection between the driveshaft and the rear differential may become damaged, possibly resulting in a loss of power to the rear wheels or a vehicle rollaway.
• Safety consequence: An unexpected loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. In addition, a damaged driveshaft can result in a vehicle rollaway if the parking brake is not applied, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
• Remedy: Dealers will inspect the connection between the driveshaft and rear axle differential, and apply adhesive or replace the driveshaft and rear axle differential, as necessary, free of charge. Lucid Air: exterior-lighting circuit fire risk

Lucid advises affected owners to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is completed. Its over-the-air update has been released. Owners should follow Lucid’s instructions and confirm that the recall work for their vehicle is complete.

• Safety consequence: An overheated circuit increases the risk of a fire. A loss of the center brake light or front lights can also decrease visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Kia EV9: occupant-detection and airbag concern

The campaign concerns the occupant-detection system in the front passenger seat. Dealers will inspect the mat and bladder tube and replace or route them as required by the recall instructions.

Due to improper routing, the Occupant Detection System (ODS) may not deactivate the air bag when a child or child seat is in the front passenger seat. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”
• Safety consequence: A child in the front seat may be at a greater risk of injury if the air bag deploys during a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the ODS mat and bladder tube with a new one and ensure proper routing as necessary, free of charge.
