Toyota Tacoma Recall: Shock Absorber Reservoirs May Detach

Toyota is recalling 48,280 trucks because corrosion may cause a shock-absorber flange to fail, allowing an external oil reservoir to detach. Campaign 26V514000 covers certain 2024–2025 Tacoma and 2024 Tacoma Hybrid vehicles. A detached reservoir can create a road hazard and increase crash risk.

• Safety consequence: An oil reservoir that detaches can create a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will inspect and replace the front and rear shock absorber assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 21, 2026. What owners should do next
