Freightliner and FCCC Recall: Low-Beam Headlight Software

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling 23,276 vehicles because a software error may prevent the low-beam headlights from illuminating properly. Campaign 26V475000 covers certain 2026–2027 Freightliner eM2 and Business Class M2 vehicles and Freightliner Custom Chassis S2C and S2RV vehicles. Insufficient illumination can reduce visibility and increase crash risk.

• Defect: Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2026-2027 Freightliner EM2, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2RV, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2C, and Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. A software error may cause the low beam headlights to illuminate improperly.
• Safety consequence: Insufficient low beam headlight illumination can reduce driver visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
• Remedy: Dealers will update the headlight software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 20, 2026. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA’s number for this recall is F1036.

What owners should do next

Contact an authorized DTNA service facility about the headlight software update under campaign F1036. Fleet operators should check each vehicle’s VIN because the listed model families include vehicles outside the recall population.
