> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

The newly reported campaigns address systems that can affect a driver’s view behind the vehicle, the attachment of rear suspension springs, or the securement of a fuel tank. The official records describe crash risk in each group, with an additional stated risk of engine stall or fire where fuel may leak.

## Campaigns in this briefing

### CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, RAM: PACIFICA, PACIFICA PLUG-IN HYBRID, VOYAGER and other models

The rearview camera image may not appear after the vehicle is placed in reverse. That can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle and increase crash risk. The stated correction is a radio-software update, performed by a dealer or delivered over the air without charge.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V531000
- **Vehicles listed:** CHRYSLER PACIFICA (2027, 2026); CHRYSLER PACIFICA PLUG-IN HYBRID (2026); CHRYSLER VOYAGER (2026); DODGE CHARGER (2027, 2026); JEEP CHEROKEE (2026); JEEP COMPASS (2026); JEEP GLADIATOR (2026); JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (2026); JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L (2026); JEEP GRAND WAGONEER (2026); JEEP GRAND WAGONEER L (2026); JEEP WRANGLER (2026); RAM 1500 (2026); RAM 2500 (2026); RAM PROMASTER (2026); RAM PROMASTER BEV (2026)
- **Potentially affected:** 844,027
- **Components:** BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
- **Report received:** August 13, 2026
- **Owner notification:** September 2, 2026
- **Defect:** Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2026 Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Compass, Jeep Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer L, Ram Promaster, Ram Promaster EV, Ram 1500, Ram 2500, Chrysler Pacifica Plug-In Hybrid, Chrysler Voyager, and 2026-2027 Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger vehicles. The rearview camera image may fail to display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- **Safety consequence:** A rearview camera image that fails to display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** Radio software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 2, 2026. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is 78D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on August 20, 2026.

### JEEP: GRAND CHEROKEE, GRAND CHEROKEE 4XE, GRAND CHEROKEE L

Rear coil springs may have been installed incorrectly and could detach while the vehicle is being driven. A detached spring increases crash risk. The official record says dealers will replace the rear coil-spring lower isolators without charge; it also says the final remedy is not yet available and that further owner communication will follow.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V562000
- **Vehicles listed:** JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE (2023, 2022); JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 4XE (2023, 2022); JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L (2023, 2022, 2021)

- **Defect:** Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE vehicles. The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving.
- **Safety consequence:** Rear coil springs that detach from the vehicle while driving increase the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** Dealers will replace the rear coil spring lower isolators, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, are expected to be mailed September 29, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 89D. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 9, 2026. This recall replaces NHTSA recall numbers 26V051 and 23V413. Vehicles already repaired under the previous recalls will need to have the new remedy completed.

### BUICK, CHEVROLET: ENCORE GX, ENVISTA, TRAILBLAZER and other models

The rearview-camera screen may show a distorted image or no image. An image that does not display correctly can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle and increase crash risk. **Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V539000
- **Vehicles listed:** BUICK ENCORE GX (2026, 2025, 2024); BUICK ENVISTA (2025, 2024); CHEVROLET TRAILBLAZER (2026, 2025, 2024); CHEVROLET TRAX (2025)

- **Safety consequence:** A rearview image that does not display correctly reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** Dealers will inspect and replace the rearview camera, if necessary, free of charge. Letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed September 17, 2026. Another letter will be mailed once the parts are available. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300. ### RAM: 1500

A radio-software error may prevent the rearview-camera image from appearing. The missing image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle and increase crash risk. The stated correction is a radio-software update delivered over the air or performed by a dealer without charge.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V560000

- **Safety consequence:** A rearview image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 9, 2026.

### FORD: F-150

The fuel tank may not be secured properly, allowing it to leak fuel or detach while the vehicle is being driven. A detached tank can create a road hazard, while a fuel leak can lead to engine stall or raise fire risk. Dealers will inspect the fuel-tank straps and replace them as necessary without charge.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V578000
- **Vehicles listed:** FORD F-150 (2027, 2026, 2025, 2024, 2023)

- **Remedy:** Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tank straps, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 21, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S69. ## What owners should do next

Owners should review the official campaign information for their vehicle and contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer to arrange the stated remedy or obtain the latest remedy status.

A headline cannot confirm whether a particular vehicle is affected. Use the [official NHTSA recall lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) with the vehicle identification number and contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer for vehicle-specific guidance.
