> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

The official record describes a front-window closing function that may not reverse as expected when it encounters an obstruction. That can allow a passenger to be pinched before the window retracts, creating an injury risk.

## What the official recall record says

### CADILLAC: OPTIQ

When the front windows are closed with the key fob’s express-up function, the obstruction-detection feature may fail to respond as intended. A window may then continue closing long enough to pinch a passenger before reversing, which can increase injury risk. The stated remedy is an update to the body control module software, performed by a dealer or delivered through an over-the-air update at no charge.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V612000
- **Vehicles listed:** CADILLAC OPTIQ (2027, 2026, 2025)
- **Potentially affected:** 29,347
- **Components:** ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:BODY CONTROL MODULE:SOFTWARE; VISIBILITY:POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS
- **Report received:** September 24, 2026
- **Owner notification:** Not provided in the source record
- **Defect:** General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025-2027 Cadillac OPTIQ vehicles. When closed using the key fob's express-up function, the front windows may fail to detect an obstruction and reverse direction. As such, these vehicles fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 118, "Power-Operated Window Systems."
- **Safety consequence:** A closing window that does not reverse direction as expected can pinch a passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury.
- **Remedy:** The body control module (BCM) software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is N262567230. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on September 24, 2026.
