> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

The official record describes a potential failure in either roof rail airbag inflator. If an end cap detaches or the inflator ruptures, compressed gas and metal parts may enter the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury. The listed remedy is replacement of both roof rail airbag modules at no charge.

## What the official recall record says

### CHEVROLET, GMC: SILVERADO 1500, SILVERADO 2500, SILVERADO 3500 and other models

The roof rail airbag inflator may release its end cap or rupture along its sidewall. That failure can allow compressed gas to escape and can send the end cap or inflator fragments into the vehicle, creating the stated injury risk. Dealers will replace both roof rail airbag modules free of charge.

The left-side or right-side roof rail air bag (RRAB) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator or the inflator sidewall may rupture.

- **Remedy:** Dealers will replace both RRAB modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 9, 2026. Owners may contact GMC customer service at 1-888-988-7267 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N262569920.
