> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

An issue involving headlight assemblies has been identified in certain Ford Expedition and Super Duty vehicles. The official record says contamination in an LED chip can cause daytime running lights, parking lights, high beams or low beams to stop working, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk.

## What the official recall record says

### FORD: EXPEDITION, F-250 SD, F-350 SD and other models

A contaminated LED chip inside the headlight assembly may lead to loss of one or more exterior lighting functions. That loss can reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the headlight assemblies and replace them as necessary, free of charge.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V606000
- **Vehicles listed:** FORD EXPEDITION (2027, 2026, 2025); FORD F-250 SD (2026); FORD F-350 SD (2026); FORD F-450 SD (2026); FORD F-550 SD (2026)
- **Potentially affected:** 41,748

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- **Safety consequence:** A loss of exterior lighting can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** Dealers will inspect and replace the headlight assemblies, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 26, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C43. Check the official recall status for the vehicle and contact Ford or an authorized dealer to arrange the inspection and any needed headlight replacement.
