> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

A center display may lose power, leaving the rearview camera image unavailable. The official record says this can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle and increase crash risk. It does not yet specify the repair.

## What the official recall record says

### FORD: RANGER

The specified center screen may lose power and fail to show the rearview camera image, a condition identified in the official record as not meeting rear-visibility requirements. Without that image, the driver’s view behind the vehicle is reduced, which the record says can increase crash risk. The manufacturer says the remedy is under development; owners will receive further notice when it is available.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V605000
- **Vehicles listed:** FORD RANGER (2026)
- **Potentially affected:** 11,405
- **Components:** BACK OVER PREVENTION:DISPLAY FUNCTION; EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:INFOTAINMENT
- **Report received:** September 22, 2026
- **Owner notification:** Not provided in the source record
- **Defect:** Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2026 Ranger vehicles equipped with a 10.1-inch center stack screen. The screen may lose power and fail to display the rearview camera image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- **Safety consequence:** A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** The remedy is currently under development. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed October 5, 2026. Additional letters will be sent when the remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26C42.
