# JAGUAR E-PACE: NHTSA recall 26V599000 explained

## Summary

A reported issue involving the vehicle’s DC-DC converter can affect charging for the low-voltage electrical system and may lead to a loss of drive power.

## At a glance

- Manufacturer: JAGUAR
- Vehicle: E-PACE
- NHTSA campaigns: 26V599000
- Potentially affected: 23,677

> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

This recall concerns an electrical-system component used across certain Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. The official record describes a condition that can interrupt low-voltage charging and, in some circumstances, result in a loss of drive power and exterior lighting. Only an official VIN lookup can confirm whether a particular vehicle has an open recall.

## What the official recall record says

### JAGUAR, LAND ROVER: E-PACE, F-PACE, DEFENDER and other models

The recall addresses the DC-DC converter, which supports the vehicle’s low-voltage electrical system. The official record says an electrical overload during high power demand, or a software error at start-up under certain circumstances, can cause the converter to stop functioning. The stated remedy is a dealer software update at no charge. The official record does not specify repair timing or final-remedy availability.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V599000
- **Vehicles listed:** JAGUAR E-PACE (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021); JAGUAR F-PACE (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021); LAND ROVER DEFENDER (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020); LAND ROVER DISCOVERY (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021); LAND ROVER DISCOVERY SPORT (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020); LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020); LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020); LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER SPORT (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, 2019); LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VELAR (2024, 2023, 2022, 2021)
- **Potentially affected:** 23,677
- **Components:** ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:PROPULSION SYSTEM:DC/DC CONVERTER
- **Report received:** September 17, 2026
- **Owner notification:** Not provided in the source record
- **Defect:** Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC (Land Rover) is recalling certain 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport, 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, Land Rover Range Rover, Land Rover Discovery Sport, Land Rover Defender, 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, Jaguar E-Pace, F-Pace, and Land Rover Discovery vehicles. The DC-DC converter may malfunction due to an electrical overload that can occur during high power demand. Additionally, a software error can cause the DC-DC converter to stop functioning at vehicle start-up under certain circumstances. Failure of the DC-DC converter will result in the loss of 12-Volt system charging and can lead to complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.
- **Safety consequence:** A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** Dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed November 13, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Land Rover's customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover's number for this recall is E008. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 26V248.

## What owners should do next

Owners of affected Jaguar or Land Rover vehicles should use an official VIN lookup to check recall status and follow the manufacturer’s recall communication. The official record identifies a free software update, with additional owner communication planned when the final remedy is available.

Discovery owners should also review the [separate rearview-camera recall](/articles/safety-recall-26v458000/) and check each campaign independently by VIN.

A headline cannot confirm whether a particular vehicle is affected. Use the [official NHTSA recall lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) with the vehicle identification number and contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer for vehicle-specific guidance.
