Nova Bus is recalling 928 potentially affected 2022–2024 LFS and 2023–2024 LFS Artic buses because a faulty coolant sensor may trigger an engine shutdown. Campaign 26V573000 replaces recall 24V873, and buses repaired under that earlier campaign still need the new repair. NHTSA identifies the campaign as [26V573000](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCLRPT-26V573-3844.pdf).

## What the official recall record says

### Nova Bus LFS and LFS Artic: coolant-level sensor

The sensor may falsely signal that coolant is critically low, causing the engine to shut down. NHTSA identifies crash risk from an unexpected shutdown and injury risk when passengers must transfer from a disabled bus. Nova Bus will inspect the sensor and replace it as necessary at no charge. The report says the earlier remedy was inadequate and the new campaign includes the original affected population.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V573000
- **Vehicles listed:** Nova Bus LFS (2022–2024); Nova Bus LFS Artic (2023–2024)
- **Potentially affected:** 928
- **Components:** ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM
- **Report received:** September 3, 2026
- **Owner notification:** Letters are expected to be mailed November 2, 2026.
- **Defect:** Nova Bus (US) Inc. (Nova Bus) is recalling certain 2023-2024 LFS Artic and 2022-2024 LFS buses. The coolant sensor could send a false signal, causing the engine to shut down.
- **Safety consequence:** An unexpected engine shut down can increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, transferring passengers from the disabled bus can increase the risk of injury.
- **Remedy:** Nova Bus will inspect and replace the coolant sensor as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 2, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682. Nova Bus's number for this recall is CR5936. This recall supersedes Recall 24V873. Vehicles repaired under the previous recall will need the new repair completed.

## What owners should do next

Fleet operators can contact Nova Bus at 1-800-350-6682 and reference CR5936 to confirm the replacement-sensor work and schedule. Prior completion of 24V873 does not remove the need for this new repair. The report lists November 2, 2026 as the planned date for VINs to become searchable, so contact Nova Bus directly if the current lookup does not yet show the campaign.

Use the [official NHTSA recall lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) with your VIN to check individual recall status. A model-year listing alone does not confirm that a specific vehicle is affected or still needs repair.
