## Summary

Lucid recalls 27,185 Air vehicles for a lighting-circuit fire risk. Owners should park outside until the free recall software update is completed.

## At a glance

- Manufacturer: LUCID
- Vehicle: AIR
- NHTSA campaigns: 26V540000
- Potentially affected: 27,185

> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

Lucid is recalling 27,185 potentially affected 2022–2026 Air vehicles because an exterior-lighting circuit may overheat and increase fire risk. Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Lucid has released a free over-the-air software update. NHTSA identifies the campaign as [26V540000](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCLRPT-26V540-2255.pdf).

## What the official recall record says

### Lucid Air: exterior-lighting circuit protection

Insufficient overcurrent protection can allow the lighting circuit to overheat. The recall also addresses possible loss of the center brake light or front lights, which can reduce visibility and increase crash risk. Lucid’s report identifies software version 2.10.0 or later as the remedy and says owners who need help updating can contact Lucid Customer Care or a service center at no charge.

**Official record**

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V540000
- **Vehicles listed:** Lucid Air (2022–2026)
- **Potentially affected:** 27,185
- **Components:** ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:SOFTWARE; ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRING:FUSES AND CIRCUIT BREAKERS
- **Report received:** August 20, 2026
- **Owner notification:** Letters are expected to be mailed October 16, 2026.
- **Defect:** Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2022-2026 Air vehicles. The exterior lighting circuit may have insufficient overcurrent protection, allowing the circuit to overheat.
- **Safety consequence:** An overheated circuit increases the risk of a fire. A loss of the center brake light or front lights can also decrease visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
- **Remedy:** Owners are advised to park their vehicle outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Lucid has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 16, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-06-0.

## What owners should do next

Follow the park-outside advisory until the recall update is completed. Contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243, citing SR-26-06-0, to confirm the software version and recall completion for your vehicle. The planned October owner letter does not mean owners must wait to use the released update.

RecallWire’s [Lucid Air analysis](/articles/industry-2026-08-28-lucid-air-recall-shows-the-limits-of-an-ota-safety-fix/) explains why the safety instruction comes before software-update convenience.

For help preparing that conversation, our [vehicle recall repair guide](/blog/vehicle-recall-how-to-check-your-car-and-get-it-fixed/) explains interim safety instructions and the records to keep when a remedy is completed.

Use the [official NHTSA recall lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) with your VIN to check individual recall status. A model-year listing alone does not confirm that a specific vehicle is affected or still needs repair.
