Heil is recalling 654 potentially affected 2016–2026 front loader garbage trucks equipped with replacement CNG tailgate ladder kits. An incorrect ladder-leg bolt may contact and damage a compressed natural gas cylinder, allowing fuel to leak and increasing fire risk. ## What the official recall record says

### Heil front loader garbage trucks: ladder bolt and CNG cylinders

The manufacturer’s report says the ladder bracket will be replaced and the tank area aligned with the bolt will be inspected. A damaged tank will be repaired or replaced according to the tank manufacturer’s guidance. The revised bracket removes the bolt from the problem location. NHTSA lists the bracket replacement as free of charge, with owner letters expected October 8, 2026.
