Nissan is recalling 149 model-year 2025 Altima vehicles because the front passenger airbag and passenger knee airbag may have incorrect mounting fasteners. The airbags may not deploy as intended, increasing injury risk in a crash. The NHTSA campaign number is 26V526000.

## What the recall means for owners

Dealers will replace the airbag mounting fasteners free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 25, 2026. Nissan’s report was submitted August 12; the current NHTSA API lists August 13 as the report-received date. Those separate date fields should not be treated as the same event.

## What owners should do next

Contact a Nissan dealer about campaign PD202 and the passenger-airbag fastener replacement. The manufacturer report says the condition provides no warning to the customer, so visible symptoms are not required for a vehicle to be included.

Use the [official NHTSA recall lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) or contact the manufacturer or an authorized dealer to confirm recall status for your vehicle’s VIN. A matching model and year alone do not establish that a vehicle is included or that its repair is complete.
