# 2025–2026 Hyundai Tucson Recall: Instrument Display Failure

## Summary

Certain 2025–2026 Hyundai Tucson models may lose instrument-panel information. See affected variants, software update details and official recall sources.

## At a glance

- Manufacturer: HYUNDAI
- Vehicle: TUCSON
- NHTSA campaigns: 26V400000
- Potentially affected: 96,310

> Official recall facts are attributed to NHTSA. The surrounding summary and owner guidance are RecallWire editorial work. A campaign or model match does not confirm an individual vehicle’s recall or repair status; use the [official NHTSA VIN lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls).

Hyundai is recalling 96,310 vehicles, including certain 2025–2026 Tucson, Tucson Hybrid and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid models, because a software issue can temporarily blank the instrument-panel display. The loss of information such as speed and warning indicators can increase crash risk. Recall 26V400000 calls for a free software update.

## Which vehicles are included?

- **Hyundai Tucson:** 2025–2026
- **Hyundai Tucson Hybrid:** 2025–2026
- **Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid:** 2025–2026

These are the model-year groups listed for the campaign; only certain vehicles within them are affected.

- **NHTSA recall ID:** 26V400000
- **Potentially affected:** 96,310
- **Manufacturer report date:** June 23, 2026.

## Why the recall matters

An instrument panel display that fails to show critical safety information, such as the speedometer or warning lights, increases the risk of a crash.

The [official recall report](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCLRPT-26V400-5456.pdf) provides the vehicle and defect details.

## Repair and owner notification

Hyundai's U.S. owner letter says a software update is available through a dealer or, for eligible vehicles, over the air. OTA updates require an eligible Bluelink-enabled vehicle with an active subscription and enrollment in software updates. Owners should follow Hyundai's instructions or contact an authorized dealer to confirm the appropriate route for their vehicle.

**Owner notification:** Planned for August 22, 2026; actual mailing completion was not confirmed in the documents reviewed.

## What owners should do

Hyundai’s [U.S. owner letter](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2026/RCONL-26V400-0234.pdf) describes dealer service and the eligibility requirements for an over-the-air update. Follow Hyundai’s instructions for your vehicle; the presence of an OTA remedy does not confirm that every vehicle can receive it remotely. Use the [official NHTSA VIN recall lookup](https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) or contact an authorized Hyundai dealer to confirm your next step.

Our [recall repair guide](/blog/vehicle-recall-how-to-check-your-car-and-get-it-fixed/) covers the questions to ask about software-remedy availability and documenting completed work.

## September 16, 2026 update

The notification row now reflects the official August 22 plan. June 23 is labeled as Hyundai’s report date; the campaign data lists a separate June 24 receipt date. Mailing completion has not been confirmed.

[Current NHTSA campaign data for 26V400000](https://api.nhtsa.gov/recalls/campaignNumber?campaignNumber=26V400000), checked September 16, 2026, supports the current campaign status above. The linked manufacturer report records the filing at its submission date.
